This section will list any Austral models which were outside of the standard model descriptions or names.

1936 advertisement for the Austral Delivery Cycle

1934 Models:
 
The Austral Junior 

The Youths model - 24 inch wheels

 

 

1936 Models: 

 

The Astral "Slick" Delivery Cycle - I can only find the one reference

to this delivery model(see ad to left) which suggests it was only built for Hopwoods in Tasmania.

 

Austral De Luxe Cycle - A De Luxe Roadster option.

1937 Models: 

 

 

Austral Track Racer -  Priced higher than the previous top of the range De Luxe model.

Most likely rebranded the "Mercury Racer" in 1938 when that model then appears as the top end Austral bicycle at a similar price.

 

 

1938 Models: 

 

De Luxe Roadster - 

  • BSA throughout

  • All white spearpoint mudguards

  • Spring top saddle  

  • Perry Chain

  • Endrick rims

  • BSA rat trap pedals

  • Complete with BSA clutch and monitor side pull brake

 

1939 Models: 

 

Lightweight Road Record Racer -

  • Genuine BSA throughout

  • Cyclo 3 speed gear

  • Special chrome lightweight tapered frame

  • Cyclo drop out fork ends

  • Chrome handlebar rail with special light weight stem

  • Sprint saddle

  • Pacemaker tyres

  • Endrick chrome plated rims 27 & 1 1/2 inch

 

1941 Models: 

 

Ladies 

 

  • "Diana"

 

Boys

 

  • "Prince" - 26 inch wheel

  • "Rover" - 24, 20 & 16 inch wheel versions

 

Girls

 

  • "Princess" - 26 inch wheel

  • "Petite" - 24 inch wheel

  • "Guide" - 20 inch wheel

  • "Rosebud" - 16 inch wheel

 

 

1950 Models: 

 

Sports Racer - built to combine the easy speed of a racer and the strong lasting framework of a roadster.

 

With a tapered frame and 27 inch wheels the cycle is attractively enamelled in two-tone colours.
